I am trying to find help with the Knit Picks Knock Your Socks Off felted bowl and I see you made one and it looks like your colors lined up right. I am an experienced knitter (I can do and spell entrelac) but this pattern is making me crazy. Can you offer any advice? Did your color sequence line up? I follow the instructions and first I don’t even have enough stitches on the 16″ circ to connect the first round. And it seemed way too small. So I tried ‘doubling’ – co TWO each of the four colors. But now I find that the color sequence goes off by 2 or 3″ – not just a stitch or two as they say you need to fix. HELP please? I tried calling Knit Picks. There are no fixes on their website and so far no one has called me back. I’m mad. Bought enough Memories to make two bowls. Barbara in Petaluma CA
Thanks for the comment! I had a devil of a time knitting up the bowl. I was making up for mismatched colors throughout the whole thing. I did get it to match up, but it took quite a lot of knitting with one string while carrying the other. I definitely understand your frustrations. I’d recommend that you try to knit one of the two strings every time you see one color starting to switch. You’ll have to do this a lot more than they suggested, but it’ll turn out. I really like how this felted. I have another skein of the yarn and will probably make that and then retire the pattern – not worth the frustration. I’ve also made the felted bowls from One Skein and much preferred that pattern (understanding that that pattern isn’t dealing with variegated yarn by definition). Good luck. Patience. Holes and wonky bits will be forgiven in the felting!
